Ottawa River Engagement – Baylie & Chris

I am SUPER excited to talk about Baylie & Chris today! I actually went to high school with Baylie, so to be asked to capture her special moments is a pretty big deal. They chose a location special to them, her father’s house in Pembroke, ON, right on the water. It was an absolutely perfect spot. I love when people have a spot in mind that they want to do it at, as it makes them more comfortable in front of the camera when they have at least that on their side! It also makes them that much more meaningful to the couple when it’s at a spot they know and love.

We started the session on a pontoon boat, going out to the middle of the river to a rock “island”. While there (thank goodness no one fell OFF the boat!), I got them to twirl & dance a little bit, it was a perfect spot & something really unique and special to them. Plus, I think they got a memory trying not to step in the bird poop, but that’s not nearly as important as how beautiful the photos were.

Their outfits were absolutely perfect for the scenery & the warm summer evening. They nailed it there & even made Chris’ bright red hair stand out even more somehow, but in the best way! We came back from the “island” & walked around the beach. They said that they aren’t usually into PDA, but they rocked it for this & you’d never be able to tell!

We popped champagne & it was my BEST champagne pop I think I’ve ever captured. Seriously. Somehow, they nailed it. Champagne can be a scary thing to photograph, but they got it! They also brought out a sign for their Save the Dates, which I thought was a really sweet touch.

They changed outfits after this to the classic jeans look & again, they rocked it. We continued on the beach & a little bit into the grassy lawn, just appreciating how we can get different vibes from the same spot (& how they didn’t have to sit in the sand!)

Baylie & Chris, thank you again for choosing me! I can’t wait till 2023!
