Throwback to a COVID wedding in Calabogie – Lainy & Zach

This wedding will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the first wedding Joshua David Videography (my husband) & I ever shot together.

We started at Lainy’s parent’s house with her getting ready. Her bridesmaids & her wore these beautiful velvet robes & went outside to pop champagne & just looked so glamorous with each other. They seriously had the best time getting ready with Stacey from Sugar Society, & they had gotten their hair done earlier that day at Mona Lisa Day Spa . Stacey airbrushed their make up & it just looked absolutely PERFECT.

I took photos of her dress from Sinders Bridal & all of the details. It was seriously wonderful, they did SUCH a good job planning their wedding! After the details were captured, Lainy could get into her dress & bring her bridal party & family to tears with a first look with them. It was magical.

As if that wasn’t tear jerking enough, she did a first look with her dad. It was seriously such a special moment & I know I definitely cried.

After make up was fixed due to tears, we ran over to her grandparent’s cottage where they were getting married. These two had to change their wedding so many times due to all of the COVID mandates kept changing, but they pulled everything together so beautifully. At the cottage, Zach was getting ready, so we were able to grab a few photos of him doing his finishing touches as well as some photos with his guys.

We went from there seamlessly to doing detail shots of their venue. Their set up was absolutely stunning with a tent & decor from Inspired Decor & florals from Teagan Parks Florals in the most eye-catching colours.

Once the ceremony began overlooking the water, there wasn’t a dry eye. From their personally written vows to her grandfather doing part of the officiating to her younger brother crying, it was just a beautiful ceremony in one of the most gorgeous locations I could imagine.

We went straight from here to family portraits with seriously one of the BEST LOOKING families I’ve seen. It went so smoothly with the most beautiful backgrounds. We did some photos of the two of them there too, but for wanting some photos without the whole fam watching, we went to the road to capture some of the beautiful fall colours.

The reception was wonderful under the tent. With yummy food by the Babbling Gourmet & a donut wall (seriously a must have!), it’s no wonder it was such a wonderful night. With the beautiful speeches, some honouring Zach’s late father, everyone cried again.

The first dances followed, all so sweet & filled with love. It was definitely a night I will never forget. A beautiful wedding, even in the midst of COVID.

Thank you Lainy & Zach for allowing us to be a part of your day.
